In my Sunday school class yesterday, my teacher pointed something out to me.You
may already know the story of King Solomon. He had been blessed in many ways, he had all that a man could ever dream of. He
had honor and glory and everything else that most kings think they deserve. But you may not know how he came to get all of
this. He was in God's favor, and God had told him that he would give him one thing, anything he wanted. But Solomon did not
ask for riches untold, he asked for wisdom so that he could be a fair King to the children of Israel. God saw that he was
not being selfish and gave him all of the riches and glory and honor anyway. Think about that for a moment...........
Do you realize what that means? It means that if we put Jesus first, and others
second and then Us last, God will bless us.
I am reminded of a story that Iwas told one time, it is about a teenage boy that went to school each day witha
shirt on that says "I am third"
All year long he wore this shirt. At last his principal let curiosity win, and asked him, "What is that supposed to mean?"
"It means just what it says. I am third. Jesus is first, others are second, and I am third. When I follow this, I feel
happier."
The principal thought that this was great so he asked him to tell this story at his graduation. And he did.
I am also reminded of a song that I used to sing in VBS
"J-O-Y J-O-Y Tell me what it means.
Put
Jesus first
Yourself last and
Others in between
J esus first
O thers in between and
Y ourself last"
I want to have Joy in my heart and put others second and God first.
Last night, I was laying awake in bed, thinking about the Solar and Lunar Eclipses.
You know, how the moon, or the sun, blocks your veiw of the other? Well, I was thinking, sometimes, this is how it is in our
walk with God. Sometimes, something comes up against us, and blocks our veiw from the Son. Or, sometimes, something comes
between us (the moon) and God (the sun) and we can't reflect His light on the world. But, I also notice, that eclipses, no
matter what kind, soon pass. Just as our problems will pass. This is so amazing when you think about it. The sun will
come out. Our troubles will pass. For the Bible says "Joy shall come in the morning." I don't know about you, but I am ever
thankful for that joy in my heart, that nothing else can take it's place!
There is a song that says, "God will make a way when it seems all
hope is gone....... for there's no, situation, that the Father cannot change, you will be forgiven, for God will make a way."
I used to sing this song all the time. I was about seven when I first started wanting to sing in church. And the more I think
about this, the more I realize that it's true... Think about it. Not matter what you're going through, God WILL make a way,
and no matter what sin you have committed, you can be forgiven! Amen!.... God Bless You all!
As I put in the "SAY WHAT?" section, "A candle loses none of it's
light by lighting another candle." So how about we go light another candle. There is a song that says,
"Carry your candle, run to the darkness, seek out the helpless,
confused and torn. Hold out your candle, for all to see it, carry your candle, GO LIGHT YOUR WORLD!"
There is also another song that says "All it takes is one steady
heart in a world that's churning, shine a light and pierce the dark, keep the candle burning."
These songs are beautiful, yet completely true. If we truly
love God and all of His glory, then we will want to rid the world of darkness. We will want to take our candle, which is the
truth about the Lord Jesus Christ, and go light our world. We need to tell the world about a loving savior and healer who
is "able to do exceedingly and abuntantly above all that we could ask or think." He never fails, and He is always there for
us throught the good times and the bad times. He can do anything that we ask Him to do. The question is, are we willing to
let Him? Let's go light our world, using the light from the Holy Father.
I just wanted to let some of you know out there, that you are cared
for and loved by at least 5 people, everyone is. Anyway, The thought for today is that failure is technically impossible......
I bet you hadn't thought about that. But when you are trying to
get something done, you will see that there are many ways that you can do something. When you think that you have failed,
you havn't, you are just one step closer to succeeding. If you look, you will see that if you have tried something, and it
didnt come out just the way that you hoped, you didn't fail, you have just gotten one step closer to succeeding, by using
the process of ellimination, you will reach your goal. So you havn't failed. When you look at it this way, you will see that
you can have many things in life, and failure is impossible...... think about it for awhile. You will find that it is
true.
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall
mount upon wings as eagles, they shall walk and not be weary, they shall run and not faint.
I pray that each one of you is patient and wait for His divine
will to be revealed to you. I pray that the Lord lead and direct you all in His righteousness. I went to church last Sunday
morning, It was 5th Sunday, so I was visiting at a different church. The preacher on that morning is my aunt's dad. He preached
on it being "Your turn now." He was referring to the youth in this time and hour. It is our turn to start revival in this
lost and dying world. It is our turn to lead sinners to repentance. God layed out the plan of salvation for us to follow through.
The Bible says to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and ye SHALL recieve
the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Bible also says in John 3:16, For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him might be saved. It goes on to say that it is not God's will the we perish, but that all should
come to repentance. I know that there are some people out there, one of them I know of for sure, that wants to receive Holy
Ghost, but you are just a little bit nervous, and don't completely understand. I don't completely understand it
myself. It is "joy unspeakable and full of glory" and "the half has never yet been told." I won't mention names, you know
who you are, but I know one of my friends needs encouragement. When you read this, you will know who I am talking to.
But you need to understand that God loves you. He sees through your faults, to your need. God knows that you want a change
in your life, a change that you can see in your sister, and in your parents. He understands what you are going through, and
understands that you are wanting a better way of living. But, God wants you to understand, that you can have that. All you
have to do is ask, you don't need to give up. The Bible says that the persistant, fervant prayer of a righteous man availeth
much. That means, you have to try. He will fill you, He just wants you to show Him that you are truly wanting it! It doesn't
have to be in church when you receive the Holy Ghost, it could be right where you are sitting right now, reading this message.
I understand that you have problems, and so does God, He wants to take away your problems. If you will let Him. You have to
turn your life over to Him. And let Him lead and direct you ion the paths of righteousness. I also just wanted to let you
know that I am praying for you.
